Two years in Portugal!

Two years ago, on 28-3, we came to Portugal to live our dream!

So we celebrate today our 2-year aniversary by telling about our experience so far…

Buying a Quinta with already 2 holiday houses and creating a tourism company (Quinta da Encavalada Turismo, lda) to prepare for our Portugese life.
Created our own website including a booking system: www.encavalada.com which works very well with all the big holiday sites.
Giving the holiday houses a fresh new start by buying some new furniture and painting the walls etc
Giving a new clean start to our swimming pool, which is very popular amongst our guests.
A lot of very nice guests came to our two holiday houses giving a 8,7 to our accomodation via Booking.com 2 years in a row and a 5 out of 5 on Google reviews. Both we are very proud of 👍
Our own house had a facelift on the outside (new roof and painting the walls) and is now very beautiful again
Also giving a lot of attention to our big garden, so our trees and flowers are florishing. Even created a garden for vegetables.
And improved everything on our quinta that was needed or wished for.
Adopted 3 lovely cats, Youp, Belle and Pip, to live with us.
Started procedures for creating a third holiday house in future, still in progress, but hopefully we are able to start building this year.
Met a lot of very nice, friendly people here in Portugal.
Trying to learn Portugese language, slowly understanding more and more of it.
During the wildfire’s last year, we were very lucky, because we stayed safe and had no fire damage. It came closeby and at least we learned from it by monitoring it.

So never a dull moment and still going strong!
