Arrival by plane

The nearest international airport is Porto, alternatively Lisbon. In most cases, especially in the early and late season, flying is the best, fastest and most comfortable way to get there. Several airlines fly from the UK to either Porto (about 175 km from Senhor das Almas) or Lisbon (about 275 km from Senhor das Almas). You can easily rent a car at both airports via the internet.

Directions

From Porto:

Leave Porto via the A1 Sul-E80 motorway (toll) and follow the signs to Lisbon (approx. 95 km) until exit 13 towards Coimbra.

From Lisbon:

Leave Lisbon via the A1 Norte-E80 motorway (toll) north to exit 13 towards Coimbra.

After exit 13, take the IP3 towards Viseu and Guarda. Follow the IP3 for about 25 km. Here, also take exit 13 and follow the IC6 towards Covilhá and Oliveira do Hospital. At the end of this IC6, turn right at a roundabout and follow the signs for Covilhá and Oliveira do Hospital. After 400 metres, you will reach a second roundabout. Here, turn left onto the N17 and follow the signs Oliveira do Hospital. Follow this road to the roundabout in Senhor das Almas. At this roundabout, Quinta da Encavalada is already signposted. At the roundabout (3/4), take the third exit to the right and keep right after about 10 metres. Then follow the road downhill, after approx. 400 metres you will see the first entrance to Quinta da Encavalada on the right.
